Pleats vs Slits: Normally bed skirts are made with just 2 box pleats at the left and right foot of the bed as photographed on the website. This means there is pleated linen fabric in the corner so you won't see under the bed.

The bed skirt is an entire piece with a deck meant to cover either a platform or box spring that your mattress rests upon.

The corner slits are only necessary if you have something such as an iron bed frame or post that requires the sides of the bed skirt to be free from the foot. In this case the corners will be open with no fabric at the corners which means you will be able to see the bed and its workings at the corners. Most people do not choose or need this option.

Box Pleated Corners vs. Corner Slits:

Normally bed skirts are made with just 2 box pleats at the left and right foot of the bed as photographed on the website. This means there is pleated linen fabric in the corner so you won't see under the bed.

The bed skirt is an entire piece with a deck meant to cover either a platform or box spring that your mattress rests upon.

The corner slits are only necessary if you have something such as an iron bed frame or post that requires the sides of the bed skirt to be free from the sides. In this case the corners will be open with no fabric at the corners which means you will be able to see the bed and its workings at the corners.

Because I wanted the bed skirt to match the duvet cover I agreed to a custom order that was roughly double in price. Then COVID hit, and understandably the order was delayed.
