Please note that there is no difference in sewing or manufacturing quality between the three lines of linen. All items are made by Linoto in our workshop using the same techniques, just different cloth.

All of our linen is 100% linen made from flax from Italy or Belgium.

Italian Linen:

This is our most popular linen line due to its slightly lower price point. This linen fabric is made by master-weavers entirely in Italy.  White, Ivory and Natural Oatmeal are among our very best sellers and represent everything that is beautiful about linen. Our bespoke White, Ivory, Natural Oatmeal, and Flax are made at 210gsm for enthusiasts who love a heavy set of linen sheets.

All other colors are made from 190gsm linen which is a perfect mid-weight linen. For those who love color, there are a number of bespoke colors that are only available because we have them commissioned for us.

While this linen is not certified organic, it is natural linen made from flax. The mills use dyes that are made for natural fibers and are free from toxins and heavy metals.

Yarn-dyed linen:

Indigo, Harvest Gold, Copper Plum, Sage, Pale Blue and Teal are yarn-dyed. This means that the mélange of yarns must first be woven in two separate colors then blended and woven. This is a special technique which give the cloth a more heathered or two-tone effect.

 Belgian eco-linen:

The Belgian eco-linen linen predates the organic linen linen. We have been selling this fabric since the time before certified organic first became available around 2012.

The Belgian eco linen fabric made by Libeco is truly a premium quality product. They are master weavers, and the mill is over 150 years old. Even the most expensive lines use Libeco because it's really among the finest quality linen fabric you can buy today.

What also sets their linen apart is that it is produced within very strict ecological standards. It is essentially made the same way linen was made 500 years ago with dew-retting where the flax is broken down naturally with rainwater and exposure to the elements rather than with large amounts of water and chemicals.  The flax plants are grown without irrigation which saves massive amounts of water. The natural eco-linen color is completely free of any dyes or bleaching processes at all while the white is semi- bleached with oxygen instead of bleach.

Organic Linen:

Linoto organic linen bedding begins with highly prized certified organic flax yarns. There are only a few fields in the entire world that produce certified organic flax and we are so fortunate to offer this cloth to you. Linoto organic linen bedding begins with certified organic flax grown in Belgium then woven in Italy to exacting standards.

The fabric is certified organic during planting, yarn spinning, weaving, and finishing. The mills hold the organic linen certificates. All Linoto organic linen sheets are washed in filtered water and Green Shield Organic laundry soap, then lovingly pressed, packed, and shipped in plastic-free packaging.

Belgian eco-natural 210 gsm

Our heaviest and smoothest linen for the true enthusiast. The cloth pre-dates the availability of certified organic linen. It is essentially made the same way linen was made 500 years ago with dew-retting where the flax is broken down naturally with rainwater and exposure to the elements rather than with large amounts of water and chemicals.  The flax plants are grown without irrigation which conserves water. This fabric will take a few extra wash and dry cycles to break in and soften up but it embodies everything that is beautiful about natural linen fabric. This cloth is a staff favorite.

Belgian eco-white 160gsm

Gossamer light and smooth linen. Please note this sublime cloth is dyed to be white and is therefore not organic. This cloth is made from the absolute finest and smoothest flax fibers. Most flax does not meet the high standards required to make this exceptional cloth. It is supremely smooth, light and comfortable. The diameter of the yarns is smaller resulting in a more compact construction and smoother hand-feel.
